Why are we using Eventbrite? This online service offers us the simplest way to organize attendance, ensuring all have a chance to attend at some point during the month. Also, it helps us with the required contact tracing should someone become ill. You do not have to create an Eventbrite account to register for a service. You can also contact us and we will register on your behalf. Links to sign up will be sent via the weekly Parish E-Mail list; you can sign up HERE.
What if I don’t want to use hand sanitizer? Immediately upon entering the church, go directly to the bathrooms and wash your hands for a full 20 seconds.
What if I don’t want to wear a mask? Our Bishop has asked that we wear masks at services, with the exception of the clergy. Please bring your own (we will have disposable masks on hand if you forget). If you are unable to wear a mask, please sit in the hall during the service, and pay special attention to distancing requirements.
Can we catch a virus from Holy Communion? What if I don’t want to take communion right now? You can always contact Father Jerry directly with any questions or concerns.
I am coughing but I don't feel sick. Can I still come to a service? If you are exhibiting any symptoms of illness, please stay home.
Will Holy Cross Livestream their services? St. George, Eugene, has recently upgraded their streaming set up, so we encourage you to watch their services! Find them HERE.
Is the Bookstore open? Yes! Please maintain social distancing when inside the store. You can also ask Eugenia to open up the store for a specific item.
I am upset that the person next to me is/is not wearing a mask! What do I do? The best option is always, in love and humility, to defer to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Refrain from getting into fruitless discussions and political discourse, unless you are asked. Let’s be charitable to one another in love.
Why do we have to follow these guidelines? As a Hierarchical Church, we follow the instructions of our Bishop. The Metropolis has worked hard to navigate these difficult times and regulations, and have directed us how to act. Remembering that all things are for our salvation; utilize this as an opportunity to work out your ‘obedience’ and ‘humility’ muscles! Also, feel free process this directly with Father Jerry.
How can I see the Metropolis Guidelines? You can view them on the Metropolis website, HERE.
